Canadian convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard has reported a rise in fourth-quarter profit as expansion boosted sales.
Couche-Tard reported earnings of C$11.1m (US$8.3m), or 13 cents a share, for the quarter to 27 April, compared to $8.8m, or 10 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had expected on average earnings of 12 cents a share, reported Reuters.
Sales rose to $829.1m from $566.2m. Same-store merchandise sales were up 9.7% in Canada and 11.9% in the US.
