Confectionery firm Ferrero is to spend C$30.6m (US$29.9m) on a production facility in the Canadian town of Brantford.
Ferrero is investing the cash in advanced technology to make its business more “efficient and productive”, the Ontario provincial government, which has part-funded the project, said.
The confectioner has received a government loan of C$9.2m to support plans at the facility, which employs around 780 staff.
The Tic Tacs, Nutella and Rocher maker stands to create around 40 extra jobs through the investment, provincial officials said.
“Partnering with business is a key component of the five-year Open Ontario plan to create new job opportunities and promote economic growth,” the province said last week.
