Golden Valley Farms Inc. of Arthur, Ontario, a product supplier to Fletcher’s Fine Foods, is warning consumers not to consume the products listed below, and is voluntarily recalling these products which have the best before date of SE 03 01 and bear the establishment code EST.550.
The following products are affected by this alert.

- Fletcher’s lean ‘n’ tasty Wafer Thin Smoked Chicken Breast, Carageenan Added, 500g,

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, however, these products should not be consumed. Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause Listeriosis, a potentially life-threatening illness. Pregnant women, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea and adverse fetal effects.
There are no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
Fletcher’s Fine Foods, Vancouver, British Columbia upon being notified by the manufacturer Golden Valley Farms, has acted immediately to remove the suspect products from warehouse and store shelves.
