The company cited its President’s Choice Chocolate Chip cookie, claiming that the line contains over 50% more chocolate than the leading national brand, but costs less.

Julija Hunter, vice president, public relations for Loblaw, said: “With the Switch and Save event, customers can shop and compare over 100 President’s Choice products store-wide ranging from products like orange juice, coffee and pet food to select PC Home products. We stand strong behind our products, so much, that we provide a satisfaction guarantee.”

The move echoes a similar campaign run by Sainsbury’s last year where the UK retailer pitted its own-label products against branded lines.
