Canadian natural and organic foods supermarket chain Planet Organic has announced plans for a new Planet Organic Market store in Calgary, expected to open early in 2006.
The 8,800-square-foot site is located in Shaganappi Village in north Calgary. This will be Planet Organic Market’s second location in the city. The final lease document is subject to certain conditions.
“We’ve been actively searching for a site in north Calgary, and this is perfect for our growing customer base,” said the company’s president, Mark Craft. “The new location has great visibility off Shaganappi Trail and is near Market Mall, one of Calgary’s strongest shopping centres.”
Craft said that the success of the company’s first Calgary store, which opened two and a half years ago, created a high level of interest in locating a second Planet Organic Market in the city.
Like other Planet Organic stores, the new outlet will feature cooking demonstrations, product samplings, 100% organic produce, and a deli with homemade natural and organic food.
