The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning consumers not to consume Naturally Raised Rowe Farm Meats brand All Beef Wieners, as they may be contaminated with Listeria
monocytogenes.
The affected product is sold in packages of varying weights and has the following information appearing on the back label of the package: All Beef Wieners, 42A, Packed On “FE 22”, and Sell By “MR 24”.
The Naturally Raised Rowe Farm Meats brand All Beef Wieners is distributed in Ontario only and has been voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer, Rowe Farm Meats, Guelph, Ontario.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of this product.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacterium can cause Listeriosis. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, and nausea. Pregnant women, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Infected pregnant women may experience only a mild, flu-like illness, however, infections during pregnancy can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn, or even stillbirth.
