Salmonellosis is a potentially life-threatening illness caused by Salmonella bacteria. Young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. No illnesses have been reported.
Cappola Food Inc. is recalling 1062kg of Cacciatore Hot Sausage and 690kg of Cacciatore Sausage, which was distributed by Cappola Food Inc. through retail stores across Canada.
Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria will not look or smell spoiled. Consumers should return the product to their local retail store for full credit.
