CANADA: Saputo announces acquisition of ConAgra Foods Whitehall’s cheese facility
The largest dairy processor in Canada, Saputo Inc, announced yesterday [Monday] that it has acquired the assets related to the ConAgra Foods Whitehall, Pennsylvania, cheese facility. The plant, which employs approximately 100 people, specializes in the manufacturing of mozzarella and provolone. About 30 million pounds of cheese are manufactured at the plant on an annual basis.
