LAVAL, November 24, 2001 – Delipak of Laval, Quebec, is warning consumers not to consume the products listed below, bearing the establishment code EST 330A and the “best before” date indicated on the packaging, because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Delipak has decided to voluntarily recall these products.


The following products are affected by this recall:

Pastrami Style Smoked Ham, Feuillantines Lafleur brand, 175 g, CUP 0 65305 51901 5, ” best before” 01 DEC 31
Montagnard Smoked Ham, Feuillantines Lafleur brand, 175 g, CUP 0 65305 52301 2, ” best before ” 01 DEC 31
L’Authentic Cooked Ham, Feuillantines Lafleur brand, 175 g, CUP 0 65305 52101 8, ” best before” 01 DEC 31

These products are sold in Quebec and Ontario (northern Ontario and the Outaouais).


Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacteria can cause listeriosis. Pregnant women, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea and adverse fetal effects.


There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the effectiveness of this recall.

Upon being notified by its control laboratory of the risk of contamination, Delipak has acted immediately to remove the affected products from its warehouses and retail outlets. Consumers should return the product to their retailer for an exchange or refund.
