“Main Street Ingredients is in direct line with our strategic plan and will allow us to develop that specific niche”, Melançon said yesterday (22 December).

Agropur’s CEO Pierre Claprood added: “This most recent acquisition represents a great fit with our current operations and will allow us to keep building a strong foundation for continued growth.”

This is the second acquisition in the US for Agropur this month. On 3 December, the firm announced it had bought Iowa-based cheese producer Green Meadows Foods. The Iowa facility will now be part of Agropur arm Trega Foods.
