Canada-based frozen produce group Alasko Foods has acquired local foodservice supplier FooDelicious.

Alasko Foods, which was established in 1989 to become one of Canada’s largest importers of frozen fruit and vegetables said yesterday (22 June) the acquisition will add “an established Canadian foodservice brand and a best-in-class packing facility” to its existing network and supply chain.

The company claimed FooDelicious’ customers will not experience any disruptions in service and would benefit from its own global network of 100-plus agri-food producers and processors across 30 countries.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to welcome Dave Black and the entire FooDelicious team to the Alasko Foods family and we are looking forward to growing production at the FooDelicious facility,” Alasko Foods CEO Michael Vineberg said.

Alasko Foods markets frozen fruit and vegetables under both its own label and private label, supplying retail, foodservice and industrial customers.
