Consumer groups in the Caribbean have said that they will push for Caribbean-wide legislation demanding the labelling of all genetically modified food imports.

At a meeting in Guyana, the groups said that they suspected that some US food producers were using GM ingredients without telling consumers.
They want all food imported into the Caribbean that contains any GM material to be labelled as such.
