Chile saw the value of its poultry exports leap 43% between January and October this year, compared to the same period in 2004.


According to data from the Chilean company Saxamar, poultry exports reached US$108.2m, whilst volumes in the ten-month period rose 56% to 64,313 tonnes.


Mexico was Chile’s largest export market, taking US$55.5m worth of business. The UK imported US$21.8m of poultry exports and Japan US$10.6m.
