Chinese instant noodle producer Tingyi posted increased first-quarter profits on the back of rising sales.


Sales for the first quarter of US$1.18bn, up from $969.1m in the first quarter of last year.


Net profit rose by 43% from $65.1m to $92.8m.


Group EBITDA increased by 37% to $220.2m.


The company said turnover from its noodle business rose by 12% to $587.7m, representing 50% of group turnover.
