US baby formula manufacturer Perrigo has struck a deal to expand the distribution of its products in China.

Perrigo formula will be distributed by Founder Pharma, a subsidiary of Chinese pharmaceutical group Southwest Synthetic.

Joseph Papa, Perrigo’s Perrigo chairman and CEO, said today (19 October): “Southwest Synthetic is an exciting partner given its strong reputation and healthcare focus. Perrigo’s high quality products and Southwest Synthetic’s strong brand, marketing, and distribution should be a winning combination in the world’s most robust infant formula market.”

Perrigo produces own-label pharmaceutical products and infant formula. Southwest Synthetic manufactures, develops and exports pharmaceuticals and is located in the Chinese city of Chongqing.
