Taiwanese food group Wei Chuan Foods Corp is planning to expand its operations in China, according to a report in the Economic Daily News.
According to the newspaper, the company plans to move into dairy production in China next year, with an initial focus on yoghurt.
The report, which quoted Wei Chuan’s chairman Wei Yin-chun, said the company was already developing its own market for infant milk powder and nutrition products for adults in mainland China. The plan is for the company to source fresh milk from its own and other farms to supply its Chinese operation.
Wei-Chuan Foods’ principal activities are producing and selling milk products, soy sauce, canned food, frozen products and seasonings.
