Danone plans to launch an Indian flavoured curd in Europe.

The French food group is working on a move to roll out a Bengali delicacy popularly known as mishti doi into some European markets.

Speaking to just-food, Rahul Sood, marketing manager for Danone’s Indian arm, said company executives from France recently visited India and were interested in taking the product, which is already on sale in India, into the region.

The product to be sold in France will be made in the country. Danone has not decided to which other markets it will take the curd.

Asking by when the product will go on sale in France, Sood said the launch will take some time, as Danone has yet to secure the necessary approvals from officials.
