Dairy group Arla Foods is to again increase the price it pays to milk producers.

The Denmark-based company said it is raising the on-account price by a further DKK0.25 (US$0.05) per kg of milk from 5 November. Milk producers now receive an average price of DK2.89 per kg of milk.

Arla Foods CEO Peder Tuborgh said: “Developments in world markets remain positive for our co-operative members. As price increases for our customers are implemented, the additional revenue is paid out to the milk producers, the company’s owners.”

Arla has also decided to increase the supplement it pays farmers for organic production. The supplement has been upped by DKK0.05 to DKK0.62.
