Danish sweetener and ingredients group Danisco has confirmed that it is in talks regarding the possible sale of its flavours unit.

“Danisco confirms that negotiations are going on concerning a possible sale of the flavours division,” the company said in a statement released yesterday (2 May) evening.

“Further information to our investors and employees is expected within the next week,” the company added.

When contacted by just-food, Dansico said that it was considering sale options in an attempt to drive the profitable development of its business. “We are only at the negotiation stage, no final decision has been reached,” a spokesperson for the company commented. “We will act in what we believe to be the best interests of the business, its investors and associates.”

Dansico declined to give an indication of who the interested parties might be.
