Food ingredients and sugars giant, Danisco Cultor, have responded to incidents involving the incorrect handling of genetically manipulated organisms in the production of enzymes. It has revealed that production safety requirements have been stringently tightened and an external expert is collaborating with the company to ensure maximum safety in the future.


Three separate “minor” accidents have been reported at its plant in Grindsted, Denmark over the last year (see previous story, click here). Plant manager Ernst Buchbierg revealed: “Safety should always be an essential element in our production process.”
