Danish meat processor Danish Crown is to close its plant in Ebeltoft, eastern Denmark resulting in the loss of 180 jobs.
The closure of the plant is part of the company’s plan to focus its production in a smaller number of plants, reported the Danish News Digest.
Danish Crown, which has 20 production units in Denmark, posted a net profit of 1.2bn Danish crowns (US$173.2m) for the fiscal year to 30 September 2002, down from 1.3bn crowns a year earlier.
