Swedish retailer ICA AB, which is 50% owned by Dutch retail giant Ahold, plans to divest its ownership in Danish supermarket chain ISO-ICA.
Ahold said the divestment of ISO, which operates 13 stores in the Copenhagen area, is in line with ICA’s strategy of focusing on its core business and its ambition to become the market leader in the countries where it competes.
The company expects the transaction to be completed in spring 2004.
ICA, which changed its name in July 2003 from ICA Ahold, operates supermarkets, superstores, hypermarkets and discount stores in Scandinavia and the Baltic states.
