Arla Foods has named a new chief executive to head its UK business.
The Scandinavian dairy giant said today (20 April) that Peter Lauritzen has been appointed CEO of Arla Foods UK.
Lauritzen, who for the past 13 years has headed Arla’s ingredients business, will also take the role of executive director of the Consumer UK business group. The unit exports Arla’s Scandinavian products to the US and handles the venture with New Zealand’s Fonterra.
Arla CEO Peder Tuborgh said Lauritzen has “a proven ability” to drive the UK business forward since it was absorbed into the company earlier this year.
Tim Smith, the current head of Arla’s UK business and finance director Nigel Peet have stepped down by mutual agreement and are leaving the company, Arla said.
