The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has turned down applications for a number of vitamin-enriched products produced by US cereals giant Kellogg.
The ban affects 18 products, including enriched versions of flagship brands such as Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies and Special K. They were set to be launched on the Danish market later this year.
The ban was imposed over concern that the long-term consumption of enriched products could damage children’s livers and kidneys, as well as unborn babies.
