Saudi dairy firm Almarai Co., a venture partner of PepsiCo, is set to buy Egyptian peer Beyti in a deal worth EGP645m (US$115.1m).

Almarai said the deal is expected to close “within the next coming weeks” and comes with 185 feddans, or just over 192 acres, of land.

Beyti was set up in 1998 and makes a range of dairy products, including UHT milk and yoghurt.

Almarai has a 48% stake in International Dairy and Juice, a venture with PepsiCo. The business focuses on markets in south-east Asia, Africa and parts of the Middle East.

Earlier this month, the venture bought a 75% stake in Jordanian dairy producer Teeba.
