The European Commission has announced that it has cleared the proposed acquisition of Dutch-based seed producer Advanta by Swiss-based Syngenta Crop Protection.
The European Commission has announced that it has cleared the proposed acquisition of Dutch-based seed producer Advanta by Swiss-based Syngenta Crop Protection.
The regulatory clearance is conditional on the subsequent divestment of Advanta’s entire European operations to remove concerns about reduced competition in the market for sugar beet seeds among others.
Syngenta Crop Protection and Advanta’s operations concern the breeding, production, processing and sale of various kinds of seeds.
