Seven Member States – Austria, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands – exceeded their delivery quotas.

During the year, the total quota for milk deliveries to dairies was 139.6m tonnes. There was also a separate quota of 3.4m tonnes for direct sales to consumers.

The total levy to be paid is 53% higher last year because adjusted deliveries increased more in some countries than the respective national quotas. This was most notable in Cyprus, Germany and the Netherlands, the Commission said.
