EU dairy farmers have more good news today (20 November), with the approval by the EU Council of Ministers of two reforms to the Common Agricultural Policy.
One includes the dairy sector through a “disturbance clause” allowing the swift release of subsidies dealing with unexpected market problems.
The other reform will allow member states to buy up dairy reserves without being punished with ‘super-levies’ for over-production.
The approval rubber stamps the CAP reforms, which were announced last month.
