A ban on the import of poultry meat and products and live chickens, hatching eggs and day-old chicks from the US into the European Union will be imposed on products from Nevada and Arizona, as well as California, the EU Council of Ministers has decided.
The introduction of the ban is a result of California’s Newcastle Disease outbreak.
EU ministers were trying to decide whether restrictions on a limited area of the US was practical.
