Supermarket group Baltic Rimi is reportedly planning to invest LTL70m (US$25.4m) to expand its operations in Lithuania.

“We plan to open four hypermarkets and to launch a network of new low-price shops, SuperNetto,” Inga Skisaker, head of Rimi Baltic’s Lithuanian unit, was quoted by AFX as saying.

Baltic Rimi, a 50/50 joint venture between Finland’s Kesko and Sweden’s ICA, operates 34 SuperNetto outlets and 48 low-price SaastuMarket stores in Estonia, as well as 86 Rimi supermarkets and hypermarkets in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
