Supplying the retail and foodservice channels, the company operates a more than 85,000 square foot processing facility with three production lines for manufacturing, freezing and packing.

Danny Burton, the managing director of the Fastnet Group, said in a statement: “Seafish is a well-run business with significant potential, and we are delighted to welcome them into the Fastnet Group.

“It is very much business as usual for Seafish UK. They have a great team of people in place, and we will provide senior support as required throughout their growth journey.”

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Fastnet Fish is located in the port town of Grimsby in Lincolnshire, England, and also supplies retail and out-of-home customers, as well as food manufacturers.

The company’s fresh and frozen products portfolio includes both fish and shellfish and value-added items such as breaded and battered, fish cakes and fish fingers.

Fastnet Fish said it is buying Seafish UK from its “principal shareholder” and managing director Bob Carter, who is retiring from the business after almost 60 years in the seafood industry.

According to Companies House in London, the most recent accounts filed for the year to 31 December 2024 showed Seafish UK generated a turnover of £18.2m ($24.3m) compared to £16.6m a year earlier.

Net profit stood at £458,773 versus £248,321 in the corresponding period.

Emma Acklam, the sales director of Seafish UK, said in the statement that the company will continue to operate as a standalone business with support from Andrew Marr International, which is based in Hessle, East Yorkshire.

“This acquisition is a great fit for both companies,” she said. “By combining our expertise and strengths, we can give our customers and suppliers confidence in our ability to deliver top-quality products.”
