Finnish food group HK Ruokatalo has said it has decided to establish a subsidiary to assume responsibility for domestic industrial operations, sales, marketing and logistics and transport.

The company said the move will complete the corporate restructuring commenced in autumn 2004. The new subsidiary will begin operating with effect from 1 April 2005.

HK Ruokatalo, which produces fresh meat, processed meats and convenience foods, said in September that various corporate acquisitions over the past few years had left the company with a rather disjointed group structure.

“Making one company responsible for our industrial operations at home will enhance the business itself, harmonise working practices and the corporate culture and cut operating costs,” HK Ruokatalo said.
