Kesko Food, the food retailing division of the Kesko retail group, has appointed Mika Rautiainen as vice president with responsibility for food retail at its K-citymarket chain, and Ari Svensk as vice president with responsibility for the K-market chain. Both appointments take effect from 1 June 2007.


Both men are long-standing employees of the Kesko group. Rautiainen, 44, has been with Kesko since 1988. In Kesko Food he was formerly vice president with responsibility for the K-market, K-extra and Pikoil Oy divisions.


Ari Svensk, 43, joined Kesko in 1993, and was most recently Kesko Food’s purchasing director for groceries. He was previously director, hypermarkets, and director, central sourcing for the Baltic countries.


Karri Pulli, currently vice president for the food business at the K-citymarket chain, is leaving the company. He will continue to carry out project assignments for Kesko Food until the end of November.
