Finland-based dairy group Valio has launched a clutch of lactose-free products in neighbouring Sweden.

Valio told just-food today (16 March) that had introduced three yoghurts, as well as a milk product with 3% fat content.

Valio first launched lactose-free products in Sweden seven years ago and also sells lactose-free lines in Finland, the Baltic states, Russia and France.

“There is a constant demand for new lactose free products in Sweden,” product manager Anna Backenhall said.

In Sweden, dairy giant Arla Foods and local dairy firms Skånemejerier and Norrmejerier also sell lactose-free products, while companies like Vandemoortele’s Alpro push milk-free lines.
