Fruit desserts and “Bonne Maman” brand jam maker Andros, has acquired French frozen desserts producer Prolainat for an undisclosed sum. 
 
Based in the Gers, in Southwest France, Prolainat specialises in the production of individual ice creams and sorbets, frozen cakes and pastries largely for the distributor brand segment but also under its own labels.
 
A family-run business set up in the 1970’s and headed by Etienne de Scorailles, it employs 280 staff and posted a 2005 turnover of EUR33m (US$42.39m), of which around 20% was generated  in the US.
 
Earlier this year, Prolainat obtained IFS Certification Higher Level.
