French vegetable processor Bonduelle reported an increase in third-quarter sales, driven by an increase in Eastern European volumes.
The company said today (5 May) that sales increased 14.6% to reach EUR320m (US$468.5m) over the quarter ended 31 March. Sales grew 1.4% on a like-for-like basis.
The company said that a “surge in sales” in Eastern Europe over the previous quarters was “sustained” during the third quarter, “confirming the marked improvement in the consumer climate in this zone”.
In Europe, sales were up 14.1%, but adjusting for the disposal of the apple transformation business, the acquisition of France Champignon and foreign exchange rates, sales fell 0.6%.
Bonduelle said that, outside Europe, it reported 16.4% sales growth. Sales were up 7.3% on a like-for-like basis.
