A strike at the sole plant making Bongrain’s star brand cheese, Saint Agur, has ended, just-food understands.

The strike, which began on 14 March and brought production of Saint Agur to a standstill, ended at midnight yesterday (21 March) after negotiations led to an agreement between management and labour representatives, a union source told just-food.

The industrial action had been called to further staff demands for an increase in wages, bonuses and better working conditions.

No one from Bongrain subsidiary Compagnie Fromagère de la Vallée de l’Ance (CFVA), which operates the plant, was immediately available to comment.
