Cadbury has added to the Carambar range it sells in France with the launch of a sharing-pack, chocolate-covered variety.
The company, the confectionery market leader in France, has unveiled bags of Carambar Cub’s, available in two flavours and targeted at the growing number of consumers eating in amid the downturn.
A Cadbury France spokesperson told just-food today (16 June) that it was the first time the UK giant had launched a chocolate-covered Carambar line and that the company was responding to consumer demand for a “smoother” product.
The spokesperson added: “[Carambar Cub’s] is also supporting more sharing moments because we have noticed that people in France are staying in more often and not going to restaurants.”
The Carambar brand is the fourth-largest confectionery line in France in terms of sales, the spokesperson said. Sales grew “slightly” last year, she added without giving further details.
