Carrefour SA has spent EUR100m (US$119m) to raise its direct and indirect holding in Hyparlo to 93.9%, reported the Dow Jones Newswires.

According to reports, which cite the French stock market regulator AMF, Carrefour acquired 2.55m shares of Hyparlo between 13 February and 10 March this year, for EUR39.22 each.

In September 2005, a Parisian court ruled that Carrefour had indirectly taken control of the subsidiary from the Arlaud family and must therefore purchase the remaining shares.

Hyparlo minority shareholders have contested a number of previous takeover bids.
