Carrefour has announced plans to revamp its Promocash cash-and-carry format with a new store concept.

The retailer yesterday (16 February) announced that it would roll out the new format to 20 of its stores this year, which will feature a modernised store design, updated product offer and better customer service.

The stores will have a higher emphasis on fresh produce and non-food as well as an improved wine offer, which Carrefour said will position it as an “expert” across all the foodservice sector.

Carrefour added that it has strengthened Promocash’s e-commerce presence, which now takes in all lines.

The company also plans to continue to develop its Drive (click-and-collect) offer with ten Drive stores to open in 2011.
