Carrefour plans to open around 100 hard discount stores under the Ed banner as a result of the agreement with Coop Atlantique, which operates in the Poitou Charentes and Aquitaine regions, Dow Jones International News reported, citing French media.


Carrefour has been expanding its domestic discount banners as their sales continue to fare better than those of its traditional hypermarket operations in France.
