Groupe Danone has seen rising sales from its dairy business bolster its first-quarter revenue.
The French food and drinks giant said today (24 April) that sales rose over 10% to EUR3.4bn (US$4.6bn) during the first three months of the year.
Danone’s dairy business, which accounts for almost two-thirds of turnover, saw sales rise 12% on an organic basis to EUR2.1bn.
Stripping out currency effects and one-time charges, Danone said revenue from its biscuits and cereals business rose over 4% to EUR506m.
“This overall excellent performance is the result of the group’s continued focus on innovation and health positioning of its brands, and its expansion in developing markets,” Danone said.
