Delpeyrat, a leading foie gras producer, has diversified into the prepared dishes segment with the acquisition of southwest France-based Le Magicien Vert from UK group Perkins Foods.

The company operates from an 8,000 square metre site in Agen and produces a wide range of fresh, extra-fresh, pasteurised, vacuum-packed and frozen dishes, including paella and couscous, for supermarkets’ own brands.

Employing 180 staff, it has an annual turnover of EUR27m (US$32.29m) and an annual output of 4,200 tonnes.

Delpeyrat is planning to use Le Magicien Vert’s site in Agen to produce top of the range delicatessen dishes under the Delpeyrat Traiteur brand.
