French insurance group MAAF is offering to reduce the premiums of subscribers to its top-up health cover policies who buy Unilever’s range of cholesterol-reducing margarine spreads and yoghurts which are branded under the Fruit d’Or Pro-Activ name.

The scheme will begin in February next year and MAAF policy holders could be reimbursed by up to EUR40 (US$47) annually on their premiums.

While Unilever has already initiated this type of scheme in the Netherlands, it amounts to a first in France. Another French insurance group, AGF and Danone are now set to announce a similar tie-up covering the latter’s range of Danacol products.
