UK sugar and sweeteners group Tate & Lyle has said that it has sold its monosodium glutamate production unit in France to Japanese seasonings company Ajinomoto.
The sale is subject to approval by the competition authorities in a number of countries.
Tate & Lyle said it would use the proceeds from the sale to reduce group debt, reported Dow Jones International News.
