French poultry group LDC has entered exclusive negotiations with smaller rival Groupe Arrivé over a proposed acquisition.

This period of exclusive negotiations aims to refine conditions of the acquisition and finalise due diligence, the company said in a regulatory filing today (23 April).

Groupe Arrivé ownes a number of brands, including Marque Maitre Coq. It employs 835 people across 11 production sites in France.

The proposed merger confirms the “strong strategic interest” shared by the two groups and “should benefit to all,” LCD said.
