E.Leclerc has reported an increase in its share of France’s retail sector as it posted an 8% jump in first-half sales.
Citing Kantar Worldpanel data, E.Leclerc said it accounted for 18.1% of France’s retail sales, up 0.8 percentage points on the year.
The retailer’s sales, excluding fuel, were up 8.3% to EUR15.21bn (US$18.57bn) in the first six months of the year.
E.Leclerc said the results “confirmed the success of its aggressive strategy of low prices”.
