French vegetable oil maker Lesieur has confirmed its plan to buy French olive oil brand Puget, a subsidiary of Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever.

“This acquisition comes within the strategic development logic for Lesieur’s olive oils, which already account for 11% of annual sales – €518m (US$634m),” human resources director France Ribadeau-Dumas told Agence France Presse.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Puget has annual sales of around €115m.
