French foie gras producer Delpeyrat has confirmed the sale of its Montagne Noire meats brand to food sector holding company Financière Turenne Lafayette (FTL) for an undisclosed sum.
Montagne Noire, which operates from three plants in south-west France, has a product range which encompasses cured ham, sausage, slicing sausage, bacon, chorizo, pancetta and coppa, largely marketed in supermarket outlets.
The acquisition was made via FTL’s subsidiary, Les Salaisons du Terradou, which operates three production plans of its own.
The new merged entity will in time generate an annual turnover of nearly EUR100m (US$133.9m).
