Nutrition & Santé, the high-value dietary food product specialist, has acquired French firm, Céréalpes, which specialises in soya and cereal-based galettes.
Céréalpes will merge its activities with Nutrition & Santé’s, the ex-Novartis groups subsidiary in Soy, to create a division with a combined annual turnover of almost EUR19m (US$28m).
The capacity of Céréalpes’ plant in Mane, in the Alpes de Haute Provence department will triple by summer 2008.
“Bringing together Céréalpes and Soy will give us a 50% (French) market share of the fresh deli range in specialist shops,” says Nutrition & Santé president, Didier Suberbielle.
Synergies are also expected between the companies in logistics, purchasing, sales, production and the development and launch of new products in France and abroad.
